Romania is known for the widespread problem of stray and abandoned dogs and cats, animals that often have to fight for their survival. Save the Dogs started a dog population management project in 2002, preventing 45,000 animals from breeding uncontrollably and allowing 8,600 dogs and cats to be placed in the care of responsible European families.

The organization currently employs 48 people in its facility in Cernavoda town, is a leader in animal welfare in Romania and its animal shelter is considered the best in the country.

Save the Dogs' INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION program is able to radically change the lives of abused and abandoned dogs and cats, offering them the opportunity of a better life and finding adoptive families through our partners in Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and northern Italy.

Job Description
The person we are looking for will be part of the Adoptions and Animal Welfare team of Save the Dogs in Cernavoda. He/she will have the task of promoting adoptions in the countries of Save the Dogs' international partners, collaborating with an external team of Italian dog trainers and following the animals until the day of their departure. He/she will work respecting the procedures and guidelines provided by the organization, to ensure that all the animals in the center receive excellent quality care.

Prerequisites
- Willingness to relocate to Cernavoda, Romania, for a minimum of 12 months
- Working or volunteering experience in facilities dedicated to animal care, such as kennels or veterinary clinics
- Willingness to work outdoors
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of basic notions of photography and video editing

Place of work: Cernavoda, ROMANIA
Contract: Recruitment in Romania involves a fixed-term contract for 12 months (with the possibility of renewal and a permanent contract). If the employee has a VAT number, an assignment letter will be drawn up for the duration of one year.
